The sidereal calendar follows the Ancient Babylonian wisdom star wisdom. It uses 30° divisions of the sky and takes into account the precession of the equinoxes to represent the actual position of the stars in the sky.
The tropical calendar uses 30° divisions of the sky with 0° Aries set at the spring equinox. It does not take into account the precession of the equinoxes.
